Professional Service
Members of the Knox firm have long been active in professional organizations. Nine of the firm's attorneys have served as president of the Erie County Bar Association and six have been honored as Chancellor of the Bar. Three have been elected governors of the Pennsylvania Bar Association; three have served on the board of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute; three have served as directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Bond Lawyers, two of whom also served as president; and one serves as a trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund and Trust Fund. Members of the firm have been elected to the American College of Trial Lawyers, the American Bar Foundation, the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, and the American Law Institute.
The firm has also supported civil legal aid in many ways. Members of the firm were among the founders of Northwestern Legal Services and have served on its board as well as on the board of the Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network. All members of the firm are encouraged to provide pro bono assistance through Erie County's Legal Aid Volunteer Attorneys Program or Nonprofit Pro Bono Project and by direct service to charitable organizations.
